Janine Bradley is a mixed ancestry Coast Salish person, specifically from the Snuneymuxw (Nanaimo) Nation on Gabriola Island. Janine also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Victoria. She has conducted hundreds of Plant walks and Indigenous Cultural Talks for adults, teens, and children within the Sooke and Victoria School Districts since 2021.
I would like to acknowledge that we reside on the unceded shared territory of the Coast Salish people including the Malahat nation, lək̓ʷəŋən nations, W̱SÁNEĆ people, T'Sou-ke Nation, and the Scia'new nation. I thank those people for being the stewards of this land for thousands of years and today. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live, work, and learn upon this amazing land and hope to learn to treat it with the amount of respect our Indigenous peoples have always show it.
